Crankbrothers and Transition Bikes have joined forces to shred the gravity scene in 2010. The team is made up of Bryn Atkinson, Jill Kintner, and “wearer of many hats” Lars Sternberg. Only one year ago, Jill Kintner and Bryn Atkinson took the opportunity to be the first World Cup athletes racing crankbrothers’ new Opium downhill wheels, and we are forever grateful for their willingness to not only adopt our new design, but prove its credibility to the rest of the world. Their testing and feedback helped evolve the Opium and Cobalt wheels into what they are today. We couldn’t be happier joining up with Transition, a fellow rider owned company with a fresh outlook for the mountain bike lifestyle.
Bryn Atkinson, 28, was the fastest downhiller in qualifying (3:27.89) in the morning, and proved that he was a step above the rest in the final this afternoon, clocking another swift time of 3:28.21 on the wet and slippery track to take the win by eight seconds. Following Jill’s huge win in the Dual Slalom at the Sea Otter Classic, the Transition Racing program followed up with two huge podium’s at the season openening round of the Pro GRT in Port Angeles, Wa. The GRT series is shaping up to be the premiere domestic race series…
